Each year at this time, everyone is running around taking care of holiday obligations whatever that may be from parties, to shopping, to planning. Though this is an exciting time of the year for folks, it also is a time with low productivity in the workplace. We lose focus from all the holiday distractions. The dangerous part is all that hits the fan when we return to work on January 2nd. My clients are frustrated because people on their team do not hit the ground running for the New Year. They are tired and groggy from the festivities and need time to get the momentum back to be in the groove. Make sure your team has a clear plan in place during the month of December so deadlines and agreements are kept. Give room for celebrating each other while keeping your eye on the goals.
