Tidbits of Joy #65 - International Day of Peace

Dear Employees, Clients, and Friends:

Each year the International Day of Peace (IDP) is observed around the world on 21 September. The UN General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, through observing 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire. Never has our world needed peace more and it begins with our thoughts.

This year’s theme is Actions for Peace: Our Ambition for the #GlobalGoals. It is a call to action that recognizes our individual and collective responsibility to foster peace.

Many days when we turn on the news, we are bombarded with tragedy and heartbreak. Now more than ever, it is important to be intentional with carrying a peaceful mindset and to put out into the world what we hope to receive back. Having days throughout the year dedicated to reiterating the mission of finding peace on earth, equity for all, and uplifting those in other minority statuses may not seem like we are accomplishing anything, but small steps lead to great success and even greater change. Mind your words and thoughts. Leave the politics aside and embrace humanity as the fiber of our world. If all we have is each other, then we are indeed rich. All we need is each other, peacefully.

On this International Day of Peace, AdNet encourages all of its readers to look within and discover what brings you peace in this world of chaos. Whether it is reading a book by the fireplace, going for a hike, or cooking a delicious meal, take steps today to reintroduce peace back into your mind and soul.

May peace be with you all,

Betsy Cerulo and Sydney Blondell
